Goodbye Malcolm

It is with a sad heart that I must report the passing of Mr Malcolm McLaren, former partner of Vivienne Westwood, founder of the punk shops SEX and Seditionaries on the King's Road and svengali of the Sex Pistols, Bow Wow Wow and Adam and the Ants. His solo work was groundbreaking, exciting and reflect a wide cultural sensibility as viewed through a warped urban lens.

McLaren had an infamous and unforgettable talent for creating pop icons such as Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten, Annabelle Lwin and Lieutenant Lush (Boy George) from Bow Wow Wow, and the revolutionary new wave rogue Adam Ant. His ability to manipulate the press, the record-buying public and graphic design, clothing and cultural trends has kept him at the forefront of the avant garde for the last forty years.
